Sexy Back Boot Camps Set Guinness Book of World Records by hosting Workout Worldwide in Kansas City with Kri Chay, Greg Justice of AYC Health and Fitness Inc, and Ryan Layman of Ryan Layman Fitness LLC.




60-15's: You will alternate between 60 seconds of work with 15 seconds of rest. Repeat this sequence for the ten exercises. There are three sets, each set will be increasing in intensity. You will start with Bronze in the entire first ten minute sequence, move to Silver in the second, and increase to Gold in the third set. Rest two minutes between each set.

First Week Back for Sexy Back Boot Camps


We had an awesome first week back to our high intensity training classes!!

There were a lot of new faces in the mix, including Dina, Laura, Deanne, Julie, Tracey, and about forty other ladies.

Sweat, Blood, and Tears... Sometimes Puking here at Sexy Back Boot Camps...Only the BEST Pass the Two-Week Tryout Period

Yesterday was awesome!!

We had all ranges of fitness levels and we progressed as needed and regressed as needed.

There were some who weighed under 120 lbs and some that weighed over 280 lbs.

Here at Sexy Back Boot Camps, we adjust accordingly to all fitness levels.

There were four classes:
5:30 am - Hidden Valley Park - Blue Springs, MO
9 am - East Lake Village Park - Lee's Summit, MO
6 and 7 pm - GAGE Center Gymnastics - Blue Springs, MO

Congratulations to Janet Price for becoming Camper of the Week!! At first, I wasn't sure if she was going to last. She had asthma, a busy job and her life to take care of. She had and still has every excuse in the world to NOT come to class. However, she never misses a class that she says she's coming to.

In life, you have to have a balance in order to operate efficiently. Janet has placed her health and fitness into my hands and has allowed me to teach her how to make all the variables work in sync. She takes care of horses on a daily basis and plays basketball every Thursday night... AFTER our training session!!

Now that's a freakin' ROCKSTAR!!

1) How has Sexy Back Boot Camps changed you, mentally, emotionally, physically, or spiritually? at work, at home, with family and friends?

Sexy back boot camp has made me very aware of what I put into my body. I found out I was way to sedentary, even though I didn't know it. I sleep better, have more energy and have a desire to eat better.

2) What were or are your short term goals (one week or one month) and long term goals (12 weeks or 6 months or one year)?

Short term: I would like to lose at least 25 pounds in the next month.
Long term: I would like to lose a total of 30 pounds in the next 6 mos and maintain healthy eating and exercise.

3) Toughest challenges - how do you keep your focus because it's so easy to let other factors distract your focus?

Kri helps me stay focused with his CONSTANT emails and encouragement during class to make me want to be a better me.

4) Least favorite exercise:

My LEAST favorite exercise is suicides. They are VERY rough on my lungs. I am still trying to get control of my asthma and those make it tough.

5) Favorite exercise:

My favorite exercise, HMM? I like the crunches were you have your legs straight up in the air. I seem to get results with that exercise. Also, squats are helping get my but and thighs in shape.

6) What keeps you coming back to the classes?

Kri and the girls in class make me want to keep coming. Kri is very encouraging, makes me want to work hard for myself and the other girls work just as hard.

Biggest Loser Transformation Contest Winner - Melody Brooks

what weight did you originally start? what are you at now?

When I started with sexyback boot camps in December 2008, i weighed 149. Now I weigh 133, but more importantly I lost 10.75 inches and 7.9% body fat!! I have went down at least two pant sizes.

what were you doing prior to class, exercise-wise?

Prior to joining sexyback boot camps, I was not exercising. I was just trying to loose weight with diet programs, like weight watchers

what prompted you to join the classes?

I had a baby last summer and was really trying to loose my extra weight. I met Kri through someone I work with that was having a blast at his boot camp classes. It sounded like fun! I went to try it out and have been hooked ever since!

how has this changed your life, mentally, emotionally, physically, or spiritually? at work, at home, with family and friends?

I have much more confidence in all aspects of my life- family, work, etc. I definitely have more energy, I don't seem to "drag" in the afternoon anymore.

how did you lose the weight...how did you do it? was it portion control? watching what you eat? exercising? all the above? motivation and guidance from Me and the girls of the class?

Losing the weight really took dedication. I have been dedicated to come to class a minimum of two times per week, preferably three. i also have been dedicated to my diet- eating small meals throughout the day and taking my lunch to work. Decreasing the amount of sugar in my diet and increasing the amount of protein. Once I started seeing results I became very motivated. Kri also gave me motivation with daily text messages to keep me on track. The bodybugg has also helped me to stay on track. I can visually see my calorie intake and how many calories i have burned each day.

what were or are your short term goals (one week or one month) and long term goals (12 weeks or 6 months or one year)?

One short term goal I have is to increase my intake of water. Within the next 2-3 months, I want to loose 5-7 more pounds to be at my goal weight.

Toughest challenges - how did you keep your focus because it's so easy to let other factors distract your focus?

The toughest challenge for me would be my diet. Everyday at work, my coworkers order take-out food. Eating was a form of entertainment for me. I always bring my lunch and healthy snacks to work, and just try to keep my goals in mind. Are those extra calories really worth it? Usually not.

were there any points where you felt like you couldn't do this anymore?

I love the boot camp classes. Sometimes during class I feel like I can not possibly do anything else, then Kri and my fellow boot campers give me the encouragement I need to continue.

Sexy Back Slumdog

Slumdog.

Millionaire.

Great movie.

I just got done watching Slumdog Millionaire.

For one dollar, Alex (my girlfriend) rented it and it was well worth the money.

I'm not made of a millionaire dollars and not sure if I will see that this year, but I will soon.

Everyone has their mindset of what they want to be and how they want to be.

Jamal from the movie believed in something and went after it.

Everyday we are faced with choices.

Everyday we are learning.

From something to nothing.

For those who have never been down, they don't know how to look up.

If you believe you are worth a million dollars, then that's what you will achieve someday.

If you believe you should be paid 60,000 dollars someday, that's what you'll make someday.

If you believe you are rich at heart, that's how you'll feel someday.

If you believe you can drop the unwanted fat, you WILL drop the unwanted fat someday.

You may have been in a slum-like position before, then fought your way back up.

Achieving your dreams does not have to involve money.

Every person I know who is successful in life had a dream, they had a goal.

And when they had a goal, they made a plan.

And when they had a plan, they took action.

Like A Virgin? This Is Not Her First Time

Like a virgin? Well, this wasn’t her first time trying to get a kid from Malawi across the border and into the States. Material Girl Madonna has been denied adoption of another Malawian kid. Angelina Jolie has a few adopted kids (and one is Cambodian), why not let Madonna have another?

Whether you like her music or not, you have to admit that Madonna is one of the baddest females in the industry and one the hardest workers. Her whole career has been a rollercoaster. Amongst all this drama, she always makes time for fitness.

In the music industry, you have to look good or else you will not survive. Does she workout because she has to or because she wants to? We can guess “why” but “how” does she “find” the time to add exercise into her tough schedule?

It’s easy. She “MAKES” time for health and fitness.

Daily Tips for You and Madonna:

Planning – Madonna’s schedule is crazy busy. Plan your day, week, month. Every minute of every hour is accounted for. Everyday, like clockwork, she works out at the same time. Have a plan!

Cosnsistency – Twork it out!! If this is your first week of training with Sexy Back Boot Camps, keep it rockin’!! My goal is to teach everyone on the team to create a realistic goal and reach it. The Sexy Back formula works for everyone, as long as they’re consistent.

Change – 2009 is the Year of Change. Constantly changing routines will force your body to progress and drop the fat. Mixing our daily high intensity classes with moderate cardio such as dancing, jumping rope, or running on a trampoline will definitely get you to your goals faster.

Nutrition – Knowing what to eat and when. Timing and balancing of your foods is just as important as what you put into your body. Madonna has cut out all processed foods. Eating “good” does not have to take much time or cost much. Learning how to do it is the challenge. She cycles her carbs, where she’ll eat only whole grain carbs in the morning and only carbs from veggies in the evenings. By doing so, the unburned carbs will not turn into fat in the middle of the night.

Madonna’s Daily Sample Menu:

Breakfast

1 cup Kashi (wholegrain) cereal, with 1/2 cup plain - or vanilla - nonfat rice milk

Lunch

3 oz grilled chicken breast - or fresh turkey breast (no deli meat!) - with 1/2 cup each of chopped cucumber and tomatoes

Snack

1 cup mixed berries (preferably raspberries, blackberries and blueberries)

Dinner

1 cup organic pasta with 1/2 cup steamed spinach

Madonna's Daily Sample Menu 2:

Breakfast

1 cup Kashi cereal, with 1/2 cup plain-or vanilla-nonfat rice milk

Lunch

2 hardboiled eggs with 1/2 cup each of baby carrots and cherry tomatoes

Dinner

3 to 5 oz grilled sea bass with 1/2 cup steamed spinach

If Madonna has four minutes to workout:

Strength and Cardio Workout- Tabata Intervals: Select two body weight cardio exercises (eg. stationary running, jumping jacks, squat thrusts, alternating split jumps, ice skaters, etc.) and two total body strength exercises (eg. squat to presses, deadlift + curls, lunge + curl to press, DB swings, etc.) and perform 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off for four straight minutes, followed by a one-minute rest. Alternate between a total body strength exercise and a cardio exercise.

The entertainment industry is psycho and those involved like Madonna are always running around like chickens with their heads chopped off. Of course there are days when everything is thrown off course, but if they didn’t have a plan, they would fail in what they do. Many of us are busy but I know you can squeeze at least four minutes a day into getting your groove on and tworkin’ it out at home or when you’re away from the gym.

The Top 4 Training Tips of All-Time To Look Sexy

When you train smart and train hard, you'll eventually reach your goals...whether that be in business, life, or fitness.

I was talking to a client one day about packages and training and nutrition and a ton of other things. She didn't seem to get it. But she said to me, "Kri, have you heard of the K.I.S.S. principle?"

I said "Yeah. You're right."

So what is the K.I.S.S. principle?

Definition: K.I.S.S. principle - Keep It Simple Stupid

So, I want to share some tips with you today that pretty much sums up what all of us need to do to get lean and stay lean for life.

It doesn't get any simpler than this… but simple works!

TOP 2 EXERCISE TIPS

* Total Body Workouts Are The Best: This means doing a five-exercise circuit (designed to work your upper body, lower body, and core) at least three times per week with a day of rest between workouts. Alternate between 50 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest for each a double-leg (e.g. squat), push (e.g. push-up), single-leg (e.g. lunge), pull (e.g. row), and core (e.g. plank) exercise. Perform up to 4 rounds without rest for a killer 20-minute total body workout.

* The Power of High Intensity Interval Training: Interval training is scientifically proven to burn nine times more body fat than ordinary exercise and elevates metabolism for up to 48 hours following your workout. Perform cardio intervals on non-strength training days three times per week. Selecting your cardio exercise of choice, alternate between 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest and repeat this 30 second interval eight times for four total minutes followed by a one-minute rest. Repeat for up to 20 total minutes. This routine works best on a stair machine (eg. Stairmaster) or for body weight cardio exercise that you can do at home like running in place or jumping jacks.

Top 2 Diet Tips

* Eat Early and Often: Eat immediately upon waking and then every two to four hours to starve fat and feed muscle. By continuously fueling your fat burning furnace, and eating some animal protein (meat, eggs, cheese, etc.) at every feeding, you'll also keep your metabolism revved up throughout the day and prevent overeating.

* Think Fiber First When Consuming Carbs: Eat an unlimited amount of fibrous, green veggies to fill your belly both during and between meals. For optimal fat-burning, try to limit fruit and other carbohydrate consumption to within 1-2 hours post-workout when your body best tolerates starches and sugars.

Live by these 2 training and nutrition rules and you will have a body to be proud of... I guarantee it.

Sexy Back Boot Camps St. Patrick's Day Westport Run

This past weekend was a milestone for some.

The run was a huge accomplishment for us all. It was my first St. Patty's Day run and it was so much fun! But it's not my last.

We had a total of 10 runners, 9 from our classes and 1 friend. Ages ranged from 23 - 67 years.

Everybody finished under an hour. They were all great times considering most of them had never done anything like this ever before.

Some jogged the whole thing but most did a combination of walking and jogging.

People sometimes say how they can't run because they're not runners.

That's actually false because the human body was designed for running.

The lack of movement and sedentary lifestyle potentially caused most of the general population to have bad knees or bad backs or hurt ankles.

Most of this can be combated by moving more and doing more.

We all choose our lifestyles.

These clients in the pictures have chosen to join Sexy Back Boot Camps, come together as a group, and do what most people are not.

They are choosing to "live". They are doing things they never thought they'd never be able to do.

President's Day yesterday signified a very special moment in history. Regardless of your political views, the recent election of President Barack Obama has brought about change. Though we’ll have to let President Obama’s accomplishments in office dictate what type of change it will be, it is very clear that this is a man who was born to lead. This new leader has to tackle the world every single day. Obama has an undeniable aura about him, a certain calming confidence that is truly contagious. These are traits he will surely need in the face of a continually dwindling economy and the many other challenges facing our world.

How can someone handle the stress of being the leader of the free world? I can’t even begin to grasp the scope of something like that, can you?

One thing that has always struck me about Obama is his hardcore daily training routine. He plays lots of basketball and puts in his 45-60 minute workout day in and day out. He claims it sets the tone for his entire day - that it gives him the energy he needs to grapple with the world’s problems.

I run several companies and I can personally vouch for Obama in this regard. My physical fitness sets the tone for everything I tackle in business on a daily basis. I train hard and I never miss a workout. I bring this same intensity and persistence to my companies. And I can honestly say that my ability to mentally and physically stick to my routine has prepared me for any and all challenges that I may face. Everything just seems “easier” in comparison to a killer total body workout. I really mean that.

Now, I am just going to assume that there are going to be some days when President Obama might not have time to get in his typical 45-60 minute workout. After all, since the first 100 days seem to set the tone of each presidency, Obama is going to have a pretty full plate on his hands!

So, I am going to lend my expertise in this regard to cut Obama’s workout routine by more than half to keep him on track in case any last minute issues may arise. I personally guarantee this will not only help him maintain, if not increase, his current strength and conditioning level.

I am going to go ahead and further simplify the process for Obama by designing body weight based workouts involve nothing more than resistance bands and dumbbells that can be done in the comfort of the oval office.

Furthermore, every workout will start “outside in” by first recognizing how much time President Obama has to workout each day and then matching the appropriate workout for that time frame.

The President’s Day Workout- Obama Style

- Perform all strength workouts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
- Perform all cardio workouts on Tuesdays, Thursday, and Saturdays
- Play some hoops anytime you can get

If Obama has five minutes to workout:

Strength Workout- Continuous Work: Perform max rounds of 10 reps of an upper body exercise (push-ups, rows, pull-ups, dips, etc.) and 20 reps of a lower body exercise (squats, deadlifts, hip extensions, lunges, etc.) for time.

Cardio Workout- Tabata Intervals: Select one body weight cardio exercise (stationary running, jumping jacks, squat thrusts, alternating split jumps, ice skater jumps, etc.) OR one total body exercise (squat to presses, deadlift + curls, lunge + curl to press, swings, etc.) and perform 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off for four straight minutes, followed by a one-minute rest.

If Obama has 10 minutes to workout:

Strength Workout- Continuous Work: Perform max rounds of 10 reps of an upper body exercise (push-ups, rows, pull-ups, dips, etc.) and 20 reps of a lower body exercise (squats, deadlifts, hip extensions, lunges, etc.) for time.

For work zone one, perform max rounds of 10 reps of an upper body pushing exercise (push-ups, dips, presses, etc.) and 20 reps of a double-leg lower body exercise (squats, deadlifts, hip extensions, etc.) for time. For work zone two, perform max rounds of 10 reps of an upper body pulling exercise (pull-ups, rows, curls, etc.) and 10 reps/leg of a single-leg lower body exercise (lunges, step-ups, single-leg hip extensions, etc.) for time.

Cardio Workout- Tabata Intervals: Select one body weight cardio exercise (stationary running, jumping jacks, squat thrusts, alternating split jumps, ice skater jumps, etc.) OR one total body exercise (squat to presses, deadlift + curls, lunge + curl to press, swings, etc.) and perform 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off for four straight minutes, followed by a one-minute rest. Repeat this five-minute sequence three more times with the same exercise or with the exercise(s) of your choice.

I’m sure the President will appreciate this killer fitness plan that works with, not against, his schedule as a courageous world leader. And if Obama can fit in his own personal workouts, you best believe there are no excuses for you not to do the same.

Camper of the Week 2

Every week at Sexy Back Bootcamps I will select a "Camper of the Week" that will receive recognition for their dedication to living THE LIFESTYLE. Our next recipient has been with our camp since Summer and loves to workout... Congratulations to Carolyn Papuga. She never makes excuses and always has a smile on her face.



We have worked out since the beginning of 2008 and are still going strong. She also has gotten her husband Tim to join us in Camp. They're both great people. Some days we have more difficult workouts but they NEVER complain. They just say "I'll try". That's the exact attitude that I absolutely LOVE. Last week, Carolyn had migraines three out of four days of training. But did she complain? Nope. She kept coming to class. She could've been home, making excuses on why she's getting fat or munching on McDonalds (she doesn't do those things). She sprained her ankle really bad one night in Camp, but she kept working out while sitting on top of the bench, doing DB shoulder presses with ice on her ankle! That's what I call dedication.

I want to thank Carolyn for her hard work inside and outside the "classroom". She is also always willing to help out, so if you guys every have any questions during class, she has learned a lot with me and will share her knowledge.

She has won a FREE one hour massage to Beauty Brands for her hard work in class. Thank you!

Camper of the Week

Sherri Mesh has won two FREE phases of training at SexyBack Bootcamps. She won phase #9 in December for being the Leader and coming to class and tworkin' it out every single class. She won Phase #1 which is 5 weeks long ($300 value) for referring four students.

Every week at Sexy Back Bootcamps I will select a "Camper of the Week" that will receive recognition for their dedication to living THE LIFESTYLE. Our very first recipient has been with our camp for just one week and has shown that she absolutely loves to work out... Congratulations to Sherri Mesh. Sherri came into our camps looking to "lose + tone", develop lean muscle definition and increase her overall fitness level.





Even though she just started, I can tell you that she has been successful because of her dedication to be at every workout and bust her butt with a "NO QUIT" attitude. Last night, her eyes were bugging her and they were bloodshot red, but she was still there with us. We love having Sherri on our team.

Favorite exercise: Anything that she knows is working the abs.

Least favorite exercise: Lunges

Sherri, I want to thank you personally for being a shining example of what a strong body can look like if you are consistent with actions that move you toward your goals. Stop, Drop, Opened Up Shop!!

WOO WEE!! Finally!! Opening day came and went. It was fun. The morning class in LS only had two people, which is a start and it will only get better,
but I want to see more Ladies in there. SO, if you're reading this and live in the Lee's Summit area, I want to see you in class.

The evening classes in Blue Springs were awesome! We had a lot of energy and thanks to Miss Sherri for bringing in tons of clients. She has earned FREE

There were nine people in the six pm class and five in the seven pm class. Great job Ladies! Let's continue to kick butt into 2009.
